It feels like it’s been an unusually warm and sunny autumn. I’ve been shooting a lot of color lately. (Olympus XA on Lucky 200)

This will probably not be as coherent of a post because I’m tired. I slept 10 hours today and felt like I needed it. I feel like there’s a running joke about always being tired as an adult, but does that mean society demands more of us than we can comfortably give?

I started seeing an acupuncturist again. There is one that lives near me that I can walk to. I last saw him 4-5 years ago and was surprised and a little embarrassed that he recognized me immediately. When you start seeing someone regularly, even if it’s technically a business transaction, when does it become rude to just drop out without any notice or word?

Now here’s some shots on 800T film. In the future I will overexpose 800T because shooting it at 800 iso is a lie! I had to spend extra time editing the photo to try and minimize some weird color casts I was getting from underexposing.

There is something very relaxing about getting acupuncture. I love the 20 minutes lying there with needles in my body, nothing just me, the needles, and my thoughts. When I walk out of the clinic I feel very refreshed.
I’ve become more a fan of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) stuff. I’ve been drinking hot water regularly for years and years, but recently I listened to a podcast where it was mentioned that it’s more gentler for the qi of the food to steam it, and ever since then I’ve been making efforts to steam instead of microwave my leftovers. It takes more time and effort but I find it worth it especially for rice dishes. Sometimes if it’s just a soup I’ll throw it in the microwave. I have two woks at home, one that is rusted that we only use for steaming, and the other for stir frying.

Growing up X said that his family never used the microwave, maybe using it only once a year to pop popcorn. Everything was heating up with steaming. I am enjoying embracing more Chinese health and food related things and adopting practices from his parents.

Ok that’s my stream of consciousness for now. See you next time!
